Silk Stripes

If I had to choose a uniform to live in everyday it would consist of silk dress after silk dress. The prefect combination of ease and femininity is achieved when I am in this uniform, and I always feel confident.

I particularly love this striped number from Club Monaco, know as the Hilda Dress! The color combination, versatility, shape and feel of it are everything I look for in a dress and I can't wait to see all the outfit variations that take place with this piece in my closet!

Happy Tuesday, ya'll!

An evening with Cuyana

A few weeks ago I attended a trunk show for Cuyana with one of my very best friends. It was one of those evenings after which I felt truly inspired not only by what I saw, but the mission of this company:

"One-of-a-kind accessories, one country at a time"

At Cuyana, which means "to love," they are committed to creating products "with soul, story, sustainability and community empowerment." They travel the world gaining inspiration from different countries; they then produce limited edition accessories using only the highest quality materials from that country. Currently, their line is featuring products inspired by Indian culture. (Read their story here) They also donate a portion of their profits to charity:water, an organization dedicated to finding clean water solutions around the world.

Here are a few of the items I am coveting from Cuyana:

1. Stainless Steel Bangles
2. Canvas and Leather Weekend Bag
3. Handwoven Silk Scarf
4. Oversized Leather Sequins Clutch

Shop Cuyana's entire India collection here!

I love a company with a clear message, timeless designs, and a mission to benefit the greater good! I am all about Cuyana, and can't wait to see what they do next! Here are of few photos from the evening featuring their fantastic pieces!

Enjoy!

Floral Fresh

I love a good floral print, and this one had me from the moment I saw it! It's fun and flirty, yet professional. I wore it last week for an event after work and I must say I love any outfit that can transition from day to night with little effort. Versatility is key for any working woman and this skirt does the job quite well. It's definitely become one of my new favorite additions to my closet!

Hope you're all enjoying your Monday!

Roommate Inspiration: Lizzy

There are tons of pros to being in college. Without a doubt, the best part is living with my closest friends. While their company alone is more than enough to make me happy, I can't deny that having generous friends who share their wardrobes is definitely an added bonus. Back when I first left for school, I was worried that my days of raiding closets (sorry Chels!) were over. Little did I know that  better things were in my future.

Enter Lizzy: I first met her during freshman year. I instantly knew she was a girl with an eye for a trend. She not only inspires me with her style, but shares it with me as well. I couldn't be luckier.

Dress: Nordstrom's, Shoes: Steve Madden, Earrings: J crew

In person, this dress comes off as a neon pink. There's no way a picture could ever come close to what it looks like in person. Either way, Lizzy looks amazing!

Top: Macy's, Pants: Stevens, Shoes: Nordstrom's

Being trendy doesn't always take an outlandish statement; sometimes it's something as small as a new crop top! I hope after a few crunches I'll get the green light to borrow this one! ;-)

Top: Rock and Republic, Pants: Nordstrom's, Shoes: Nordstrom's, Necklace: Urban Outfitters

I think this final look is Lizzy's true self. She loves statement jewelry and bright pops of color. You can't see it here, but this shirt has a special cut-out in the back. She knows that outfits shouldn't be "one-sided!"

Yes, this gal's closet is in my house. Who else is jealous?

Happy Weekend, everyone!

Black + Blue

Ah... the wrap dress. a classic! I have worn this Cheap Monday dress is so many different variations and I love each one more than the next. When I purchased it I found it to be a challenging item to wear... the slit with the San Francisco wind became quite problematic for a day at the office. However, adding a light weight dress or skirt underneath became the perfect solution and adds a pop of color for extra appeal. Alternatively, the dress with leather leggings is great for an edger night on the town look. All in all it's a great LBD!

Hope you're all enjoying your Thursday!

Style Inspiration: Michelle Williams

I can't pin point exactly what I adore most about Michelle Williams; her iconic style, her talent, her taste in hot men or her adorable pixie cut... it's all great! I love the way she always exudes femininity, stays true to herself, is confident, classy and maintains a health dose of sexy appeal.

She takes risks when it comes to fashion and in many cases it pays off, big time! Who can forget her yellow Vera Wang moment at the Oscars in 2006, her Chanel look in 2011, or last years red Louis Vuitton gown, all gorgeous looks! And the shift dresses, oh the shift dresses! Michelle may as well take the cake (in my book) and be the Queen of the Shift Dress; with fun prints, elegant details, a hint of whimsy she is always adorably cute on the red carpet. With her impeccable style and grace, how can you not take notice of this beautiful women. Don't even get me started on how amazing she was in My Week With Marilyn... breathtaking!

Here are just a few of my favorite looks:
