This past weekend we had the honor of attending the nuptials of the beautiful, Ashley Trachtenberg, and the very handsome, Jason Denny. The ceremony was picturesque; set in the Berkeley Hills with an amazing reception, delicious food and dancing to follow! The bride was breathtakingly beautiful, the night was filled with love, inspiration and vows to remember; it was an evening that will not soon be forgotten. Congratulations Ashley and Jason, you make an exquisite couple!

In addition to congratulating the happy couple we wanted provide a few helpful tips to wedding goers during this season of matrimony. We like to rely on the three C's: confidence, class and comfort. While comfort is always important, especially when you factor in a ceremony, reception and long night of dancing, as a single female attending weddings it's equally important to feel confident, classy and know that you're looking your very best.
Here's our list of tips, ideas, and Abby’s guide to getting ready for a wedding:
The Outfit: What you wear to a wedding depends on so many things: season, time of day, venue. etc. Abby chose this BCBGeneration dress because she felt it was well suited for a summer evening wedding in the color, length, style, and elegance. Most importantly: She felt and looked fabulous in it! There's a time and a place for trendy, out-of-the box dresses, but weddings aren't usually that place. This season embrace all of the wonderful bright color options in classic shapes that you know will flatter your figure.

The Hair: Comfort is essential here. There's a lot to be said for a natural look, it exudes class and highlights your beauty without looking done up. We love a simple hair style with a little curl, or a few pieces pinned back... nothing says elegance like effortless beauty. Plus no one wants to spend the night worrying about bobby pins flying out of their hair. Updo's can look amazing, but let's leave the intricate hair style to the bride: It's her day to shine.

The Accessories: Keep it small and simple. Statement pieces are always fun, but they might take some focus off your cute outfit. This goes for your bag too, we always try to bring the essentials with us and nothing more, you don't want to drag a big purse around from the ceremony to reception, it can be a pain.

The Shoes: The alias HEELS might give you a clue, we believe in the mantra the bigger the better! These ZigiSoho platforms are a staple in Abby’s closet. Even though she know they go against the “keep it simple” philosophy we’ve been preaching, the six inches of confidence they provide are essential to the overall look. That being said, remember those bare essentials you packed in your clutch? One word: FLATS! We’re all for sticking the night out in those rockin' shoes, but it only takes about three songs worth of dancing to change your mind. Trust us.

Happy wedding season, everyone! Cheers to the Denney's!
