Beach Bums

 

This past weekend I had such a wonderful trip home spent with my family and friends! I can't wait until next week when HEELS and I are together again! Twice in two weeks, how lucky are we!

We were lucky enough to grow up on a small somewhat secluded beach on Lake Mendota in Madison, Wisconsin. This makes summer trips home to the Midwest extra special with long days spent by the beach soaking up the sun, or sailing on the lake. 

It's especially great over a hot memorial day weekend, before all the young day trippers get out of school for the summer! All of this relaxing makes it that much more difficult for me to leave my family and head back to the West Coast.

I suppose that's why it's called vacation... But after some much needed R&R and reminiscing about the good ol' days I am longing for more time by the beach, spending the days in swimsuits, coverups and beach hats. Here's to hoping this weekend is beach worthy in the city!
