For the longest time I went back and forth about painting any of the walls in my apartment. My first concern was having to paint everything back once I moved out, but after 2.5 year with white walls and no plans to move anytime soon I decided it was time.
I chose to only paint two accent walls since I wanted to use bright colors and didn't want the space to appear smaller or darker. For my bedroom I used "Lyric Lake*" to compliment all of the other blues and greens in the space. I love the way it works with the whites, golds and greens, everything just seems to pop!
For my work space I chose something a little different. I wanted the focus to be my favorite piece of art, "Duderina" by Two Rabbits Studios done for The Raveonetts. The color I picked is called "Burnt Umber*" and the stripes are the perfect backdrop to compliment my creative nook.
My space is definitely still a work in progress, but so far I happy with the results!
* Both paint colors are Valspar Medallion paints

Burnt Umber - 40079
Happy Thursday, everyone!

ReplyDeleteI love the colors! Found your blog via Apartment Therapy. I also love the wall hook with the necklaces. Was it a DIY project or did you buy it?
ReplyDeletealso found your blog via AT... love the desk nook! question - where's your desk from? i love it.
ReplyDeleteHi Kate! The desk is from Pier 1... I don't think they make it any more, but it was called the project table and I believe Pottery Barn makes one as well. Thanks for your comment!
ReplyDeleteHi Megan! I actually bought the hook from a consignment shop... however, I did paint it and use it for another DIY project to make a painting in my apartment. I imagine it would be a pretty easy DIY once you find the right pieces.
ReplyDeletethanks!!
